My original plan for this post was some cute photos of a taco bar on a picnic table, a large tv pressed up against a patio door, and many friends in lawn chairs enjoying their tacos from the patio.

Well, I snapped back to reality and realized that wasn’t going to happen. Supplies are expensive, the tv would block the door, and tacos are messy.

So do you know what you REALLY need for the perfect tailgate? Some monthly pizza promotions, a tv, a bags/cornhole set, and your pals.

Last weekend, we celebrated University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign’s homecoming by inviting our friends from undergrad to our apartment to watch the game. We ordered pizza, drank some beer, and had the LONGEST games of bags EVER. Was it artsy with an aesthetic appeal? No. But did we have a blast celebrating a major UIUC win at the tailgate outside Memorial Stadium? Yes.

Next time your teams are playing, order some pizzas, stock the fridge with your favorite drinks, setup some yard games, and turn the game on. The company is better than the game.

Oh, and don’t forget the self-timer photos.
